Title: Estimation and inference in regression models for random star-shaped sets

Abstract: A simple linear regression model for random elements taking values in a space of star-shaped sets is introduced. Once the least-squares estimators are derived, their consistency and asymptotic behavior are examined. In particular, the asymptotic distributions of the estimators are studied in order to build confidence bands for the parameters, enabling statistical inference. To support the theoretical results, a simulation study is carried out. Finally, the proposed methodology is applied to a real-world problem.
