Abstract: The accuracy of a diagnostic test should be evaluated before clinical use, as false results can negatively impact not only the health of individual patients but also public health in general. Diagnostic tests play a fundamental role in identifying a patient's disease or condition, and their accuracy must be determined through comparisons and statistical tests. Various parameters of diagnostic tests, such as sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, positive and negative likelihood ratios, Youden index, and weighted kappa coefficient, are estimated in different types of studies, along with the best confidence interval for each estimator, using the ebdt library and/or a Shiny app developed to perform such calculations for researchers with varying levels of experience using R.
