Abstract: In many research fields there has recently been a surge in data integration and Meta-Analysis driven by the availability of massive public repositories. In the case of biomedicine and omics sciences, where tens of thousands of variables are present per study, the usual way to fuse data was to obtain a statistic for every individual variable per study, but in this context it presents some drawbacks derived from missing data and the integration step. New developments focus on the integration of data using external databases that relate the original variables in groups, while others employ p-value combination or a mix of both. The GSEMA (Gene Set Enrichment Meta Analysis) R package performs effect size based Meta-Analysis in omics data with an extension to multi-omic data.
