Abstract: The research objectives are to study physical data, general conditions, and the context of the silk community in Surin Province, and to create big data of the silk community for local economy development and elevation of community products in Surin Province. A mixed-methods research approach combining qualitative and quantitative methods was employed. The results conclude that Surin silk is a type of handicraft known both domestically and internationally, and has long brought fame to Thailand. Surin silk has unique patterns and colors. Silk weaving is practiced in almost every village across the 17 districts of Surin Province, for household use, ceremonial wear, and sale in community markets and online. The patterns of the silk fabric depend on the weaver's design and customer orders.
