CALL FOR PAPERS Special Issue on Panel Data Analysis Econometrics and Statistics Ranked Q1 in Economics and Q1 in Statistics and Probability http://www.elsevier.com/locate/ecosta We are inviting submissions for a special issue of the journal Econometrics and Statistics focused on Panel Data Analysis. This Special Issue aims to publish frontier research in panel data analysis with a significant and novel econometric component. Contributions must demonstrate clear methodological innovation, substantial theoretical development, or meaningful advances in computational or technical aspects of panel data analysis. Original methodological contributions inspired by substantive applications are particularly encouraged. Papers that primarily apply long-established techniques to new datasets or alternative empirical contexts without methodological innovation are generally discouraged. All submissions must contain original, unpublished work that is not being considered for publication elsewhere. The special issue welcome original research papers addressing, but not limited to, the following areas: - Causal inference in panel data (difference-in-differences, event studies, generalized treatment effects, and policy evaluation) - Heterogeneous panel data models (slope heterogeneity, interactive effects) - High-dimensional and machine learning methods (including regularization, factor methods, and forecasting) - Network formation and spatial interactions - Qualitative response and count data models - Quantile regressions (distributional effects, tail behavior, and conditional heterogeneity) - Robust inference under dependence, misspecification, or weak identification - Threshold and regime-switching models Submissions will be refereed according to standard procedures for Econometrics and Statistics. Information about the journal can be found at http://www.elsevier.com/locate/ecosta. The deadline for submissions is 20 December 2026. However, papers can be submitted at any time, and once they are received, they will enter the editorial system immediately.
